Health workers getting H1N1 flu virus vaccine

Health workers are moving forward with their vaccinations despite some feeling that the vaccines are not as helpful as some say.

I suppose as a health worker you should consider yourself on the front lines of the war against the flu virus but the idea of being the guinea pigs on this is disturbing to say the least.

in reference to:

"Twenty-eight members of Thompson Health’s medical staff received vaccinations for the H1N1 flu virus Friday — only the first round of vaccinations the organization plans to hold over the coming weeks for all its 1,600-plus employees and volunteers. Those working directly with patients in places such as the emergency department and intensive care unit, on the medical and surgical floors, in diagnostic imaging and at Thompson’s family-practice sites will be first in line as shipments of the vaccine continue to arrive, said Thompson spokeswoman Elaine Jackson."
